Hello, and welcome to Being The Very Best! My internet handle is Elegy, and I invite you to explore, learn and reminisce with me here. This website was created from my passion for the early days of the Pokémon franchise. While I am old enough to remember that era, I didn't get into the series until I was much older in 2010 when my friends at the time couldn't believe I'd never played it before and dragged me into the games kicking and screaming. Luckily, SoulSilver managed to be the perfect entry to the series, and I fell hard and fast for it. Fast forward quite some time now, and I've played every generation of the series now, despite skipping BD/SP.
While I still enjoy the new games, they don't feel the same as the ones I love the most, and so when I was still a kid got into the older gens of the series out of curiosity of how it would be like to have played it back in its heyday, in addition to getting fed up with the rental Pokémon in Stadium (I'm a big fan of the N64 and older consoles, especially Nintendo’s offerings and 90’s games in general.) At first, I hated Gen 1, it felt like a chore and it lacked many things I had come to enjoy in the subsequent games. But yet something about it intrigued me, and I played it again. And again, and again! I’ve lost track of how much I’ve played of G1 at this point. It was an acquired taste, to be sure, but one I grew most fond of.
And so, even a decade later, my passion for G1 and 2 (I’m biased and loved G2 from the word go, imagine that.) has yet to fade. I hope you enjoy my site here!
