A more personal look into the world of POKÉMON

2/22/23: Quest for Surfing Pikachu & the Stadium 2 Dodrio Gameboy

It's another early morning, insomnia fueled day; and I'm coming at you with an introduction for my POKÉMON goals! My goals seem simple on the surface, just clear a few cups in the N64 POKÉMON STADIUM games, right? Well, if you've ever played Stadium before, you'll know these are much more difficult than they seem. Especially seeing how I am admittedly not the best at the harder cups. Is it my luck, my team composition, or my strategies? I have no idea, though I would hope that all that time I spent on perfecting a team wasn't for naught.

Anyway, in regards to Surfing Pikachu -- I only have one final cup to clear before I earn my beloved surfing Pikachu. This will be my first time clearing the cup, despite my efforts over the years of doing so. So...what's different this time? Simple, I have updated my team according to the research I conducted and am more serious now then my casual attempts of before. I am focusing my efforts on beating this cup in particular, only taking sanity breaks to work on Stadium 2 progress.

So where am I on Stadium 2? I'm still on R1, so it'll take a while before I get my Dodrio GB. I'm using rental POKÉMON for this, as my gen 2 games are in need of new batteries. They still have saves, but it's been about 5/6 years since I swapped them out; so I don't want to chance it. Well, that about sums up my progress and such, I'll likely update when I make more. See you then!

6/16/23: Quest for Surfing Pikachu & the Stadium 2 Dodrio Gameboy

Long time no post, huh? Well life has been challenging as of late and I haven't hadn't had the chance to pick Stadium back up, until this evening, that is. While I was on my hiatus, I discovered more information about Generation One and it's competitive side, so I swapped some of my Pokémon in my team. I am still questing for Surfing Pikachu, albiet I am no longer keeping Sparkie -- My soon to be surfing Pikachu -- in my party. I also swapped Anton, my Mewtwo, out of my team. Now I have Bubbles the Lapras, and Eggcellent the Chansey on my party.

Armed with more knowledge, and arguably better Pokemon, Tonight's round of Stadium was a breeze in comparison to the countless rounds before me. I do not know if it is beginners luck, or if my new team & strategies have been helpful. Regardless, I couldn't handle more Stadium after that first attempt -- Getting all the way to Round Six and getting wiped was frustrasting and I have have an awful migraine as of late. I digress though. My plan is to get one attempt in at Stadium per day, and if I feel like it, more rounds than that. I'm feeling good about my prospects, and I know I still have some tricks up my sleeve to make my precious pokemon team even stronger than before.

Alright, catch ya later!
